Bowcock Cuerden LLP has always been an approved Training Establishment.

We usually recruit between one and four Trainee Solicitors annually.

The principal work-types available during a training contract are:

First Year:  residential property; commercial property; wills, probate and tax.

Second Year:  commercial litigation and dispute resolution; corporate and commercial; and employment.

Our Training Principal is Philip Cuerden.  Lesley Smith, David Thorp, Susannah Taylor and John Stockdale are all Training Supervisors.

To apply for a traineeship please write to the Training Principal, preferably in your own handwriting, enclosing a CV or similar.  (Beyond that we do not prescribe the form or content of applications but choose to leave that to individual applicants).

Applicants should have:-

• a minimum 2:1 degree classification

• mostly As at A level

• mostly As or A*s at GCSE

Please do not apply if you do not meet these preliminary criteria.

Unfortunately, the high number of applications we receive means that we must discount any applications from persons who do not meet these criteria, and any applications which do not specify all examination grades.
