Press Release February 2012
Having just celebrated the tenth anniversary of its accreditation to Lexcel, the Law Society’s prestigious practice management standard, Nantwich commercial law firm Bowcock Cuerden LLP has announced additional recent appointments, first as Solicitors to Nantwich Town Council and also as one of five law firms nationally to the legal panel of The Land Trust.
The appointment as Solicitors to Nantwich Town Council is the result of the firm having come out on top of a range of local law firms considered by the Council to carry out the necessary work in connection with the Transfer of assets from Cheshire East Council. The firm is naturally delighted to have been selected in this way.
In connection with the appointment to the Land trust’s panel Euan Hall, Chief Executive of the Land Trust explained:
“We provide long-term sustainable management of open spaces across the country. We already own some 1,000 hectares of land, with a strong balance sheet to provide financial stability and secured foundation capital for our operations."
“Our open spaces are a crucial part of the social landscape, delivering a range of significant benefits for residents and businesses. Safe, accessible, well designed and maintained open spaces are instrumental in changing lifestyles and improving health and well-being, so we take our role very seriously."
“Our choice of business partners reflects our ambition to raise the profile and subsequent benefits of open spaces to the largest possible audience and we are thrilled to be working with Bowcock Cuerden to achieve this vision.”
On receiving confirmation of the appointment, Property Department Head David Thorp said:
“We are delighted to have been selected as one of a small number of firms to provide legal services to the Land Trust. The appointment endorses our reputation for being able to deal with unusual, demanding and challenging work, providing service of the highest quality and with outstanding cost efficiency”.
The firm was founded in 1994 and is the National Farmers Union legal panel firm covering Cheshire and Derbyshire.
